We would love to call it an invention because although there was obvious need, scope & space for the same, we the first who realized it so urgently & we are the first who are doing it on a fire fighting basis. If Hr means human resource then it a matter of great human tragedy that we never considered this outside the boundaries of some blue chip companies who drew elaborate plans & who tried to work fashioning the excellence in people for a specific greed & specific need. With the result that practices of human resource management & development could only be termed as Business HR; business is a priority & Hr is secondary! The masses were left out of this purview. The large measure on account of social HR has been totally missing. A country like India has a dominating presence in terms of the infrastructure although promoting a real educated outlook has never been a consideration of the academics.

Whose responsibility it is anyway?

On a most differential basis and in the most refined sense the responsibility lies with an individual. Although there are very few who can actually hold that. Every society with age old rituals & history of culture also brings with it a mass trauma on account of complexes of several kinds. That baggage is so heavy India society still strives for equality whereas actually such an ethnicity should have reached a level where real internal & external competition could have begun. in classical sense of r the responsibility lies with an individual but currently we are at a stage where few, actually they should be very large in numbers, human leaders will have chart ways outs for others by creating a consciousness among the near & dear ones, among the protégés of their own choice & dependence that yes- ‘They too are a resource’. Qualification & quantification would follow.

Childhood is the beginning of life & resource management becomes easier with practice. It makes little sense to miss of an early beginning. Social Hr or business HR would become redundant because they say ‘Child is a father of every man’. Well that is a reason enough for all of us to take Child HR seriously.
